Don't fall for phony prize money

Regarding "Seniors warned: It could be a scam" [News, Nov. 30]: I am a senior. I've gotten several such calls in the past few years. When I asked how I won all this money, I was told, "In the Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes." I hadn't subscribed in years, so I knew it was a phony.

I called the Suffolk County district attorney's office and was told it couldn't stop these calls, as they were usually coming from a different country. Most of the calls came in the summer.
