DEAR AMY: I am a high school girl with a problem. All last year, a guy in my grade had a crush on me. I'm not interested in him, and I thought I had made that clear, but he's asked me out eight times. I've always politely said no. Now he's starting to really bother me. He seems very innocent and nice, but his infatuation with me is getting the better of him. He e-mailed and messaged me on Facebook so many times over the summer that I ended up "blocking" him. He is constantly trying to get my phone number, whether from me or from friends, and I've refused to give it to him. He has even called my best friend multiple times to try to get information about me. I don't want to give you the wrong impression - he is not aggressive, but it's still a little frightening. What should I do? I want him to leave me alone, but at the same time I don't want to be mean about it. He is really making my life difficult.

--Teen in Trouble

DEAR TEEN: You don't say much about this boy, but it is obvious that he either isn't reading your signals and cues or he is reading your cues but doesn't care. You shouldn't worry about being mean. Take this issue to a trusted adult right away. Say exactly what is going on, how long it has been going on and how it makes you feel. Ask for help in getting him to stop.

If you have any written evidence of his attempts to contact you, print it out.

DEAR AMY: "Concerned Gramma" was worried about the eating habits of her grandson. When my cousin was 23, his cholesterol was in the 300s, though he was a college athlete. Gramma should sit down with her grandson, daughter and a doctor and discuss this.

--Nutritionally Concerned

DEAR CONCERNED: People in their early 20s often don't see a doctor regularly. I agree that this young man should get a checkup.
