Donatich's slam gets Whitman past Hills East

Brian Donatich hit a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Whitman to a 6-3 win over Half Hollow Hills East in Suffolk League III baseball Tuesday. It was the second homer of the game for Donatich, who had six RBIs. Whitman is 3-4.

Patchogue-Medford 6, Ward Melville 0: P.J. Martino struck out seven in a two-hitter for Patchogue-Medford (8-3) in League I. Justin Mercurio went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs in the win.

Bay Shore 3, Northport 0: Trevor Borders gave up five hits and struck out three in a complete game for Bay Shore (5-3) in League II. Kurt Ambos went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in the sixth inning to give the Marauders a 2-0 lead.

Hills West 6, North Babylon 5: Sean Noriega scored David Golinowski and Ryan Gurayah with a single in the bottom of the seventh to lead Half Hollow Hills West (6-3) in League IV.

Massapequa 5, Syosset 0: Ryan McCormick threw a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts on 77 pitches to lead Massapequa (3-1) in Nassau Conference AA-I.

Lynbrook 7, Mineola 0: Alex Weingarten tossed a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead Lynbrook (2-5) in a Conference A-IV/A-VI crossover.

Oyster Bay 10, Cold Spring Harbor 1: Joe Siringo struck out 14 in a two-hitter for Oyster Bay (7-0) in Conference BC. Mike Maloney went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Rob Morgan was 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Bay Shore 5, Commack 4: Brianna Coan singled home Gianna Panariello in the bottom of the ninth to win it for Bay Shore (6-0) in a League I/II crossover.

Half Hollow Hills West 5, Hauppauge 4: Jessica Kleet drove in Francesca Casalino with a single in the bottom of the seventh to win the game for Half Hollow Hills West (5-1) in League IV. Casalino finished 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs.

Plainedge 8, Bethpage 0: Kim Nowak tossed a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Dolores Diemicke went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs to lead Plainedge (3-1) in Nassau Conference ABC-I.

Wantagh 8, North Shore 3: Christy Sinacori went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs, Taylor Corwin had two hits and three RBIs and Kelly Mignolie went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Wantagh (5-1) in Conference ABC-II.
