Mid-Island Animal Hospital in Hicksville is celebrating its 50th anniversary by donating more than $10,000 to local pet charities.

But rather than simply choosing the organizations itself, the hospital is offering local pet owners the opportunity for the donations to be made in their pets’ names to select organizations.

From 1-4 p.m. on June 18, pet owners can drop by the office, at 264 W. Old Country Rd., to choose among a group of organizations that will be on hand for Mid-Island Animal Hospital to support.

Animals will also be available for adoption, but visitors are asked not to bring their own pets. Reservations are encouraged but not required.

For more information, call 516-681-5477 or visit www.midislandvet.net.
