Doody's goal with :34 left wins it for Lynbrook
Shannon Doody scored the winning goal off a free-position with 34 seconds left to lead Lynbrook (4-2) over Floral Park, 16-15, Friday in Nassau Conference III girls lacrosse. Julia Schmidt tied the score at 15 for Floral Park.Island Trees 22, New Hyde Park 20: Allison Merrill (six goals) scored with 1:15 left in the second to give Island Trees (6-0) a 21-20 lead in Conference IV. Bridget Vilbig (five goals, three assists) scored with two minutes left to tie it at 20. Emily Lucas added six goals and two assists; Brittany Sadowski had 12 saves. Jill Graziano led NHP (4-3) with six goals.West Islip 10, Bay Shore 8: Devan Crimi scored all four of her goals in an 8-2 second half for West Islip (8-1) in Suffolk Division I. Lorraine Hodgson scored on an assist from Casey McGowan to give West Islip a 9-8 lead with 7:31 left.
BOYS LACROSSE
Babylon 11, Kings Park 10: Steve Loudon scored the winner with 19 seconds left in the fourth for Babylon (5-4) in Division II. Dylan Hopkins scored on an assist from Trevor Fudim with 46 seconds to play to tie at 10.
Lynbrook 8, Oceanside 7: Ryan Clark scored his fourth goal of the game off an assist from Dan Kaplan with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to put Lynbrook (8-3) ahead 8-6 in non-league. Kaplan (one goal, two assists) had a hand in Lynbrook's final three goals.
