A drive on a golf cart ended in jail for a Dutchess County man when he was found to be drunk and driving without a license, State Police said in a news release Wednesday.

Police said troopers from the Dover Plains barracks of Troop K found a golf cart being driven erratically on Sasso Lane in the town of Dover about 9 p.m. Sunday. An investigation revealed that Patrick C. McPhilomy, 46, of Dover was intoxicated with a blood-alcohol level of .14 percent, almost twice the .08 percent legal limit in New York state.

McPhilomy was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and other vehicle and traffic offenses, police said. He was arraigned before Dover Justice John Fusco and sent to Dutchess County jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.
