While a raucous student section created a noisy environment at Suffolk CC-Brentwood Thursday night, one sound was audible amid the shouting: a thunderous boom heard every time Dylan Missry struck the ball.

Missry had 21 kills and four aces to lead top-seeded Sachem North in its 3-0 win over No. 3 Bay Shore in the Suffolk Class A final. Sachem North, which has yet to drop a set this season, earned its first county title since 2000 with a 25-21, 25-17, 25-19 win.

The Arrows (17-0) will play Plainview JFK on Saturday at Suffolk CC for the Long Island championship.

"We've worked so hard for this, and to win it in three sets makes it that much better," said Missry, a senior outside hitter.

"Dylan is a very special player and a special young man. He's been our rock all year, on and off the court," Sachem North coach Matt Rivera said.

Sachem North also was undefeated during the regular season last year before losing in the semifinals to Sachem East. That loss, Missry said, made Thursday night's win feel "that much sweeter. That loss is the reason why we won. That just motivated us all throughout the offseason. Nobody works harder."

"We said last year, 'The only way to get rid of that pit in our stomach is to win it next year,' " said Arrows setter Rob Steinberg, who had 33 assists. "It's such a good feeling."

"I know how bad they wanted it, and at the end of the day, they earned every second of it," Rivera said.

Bay Shore (14-3) kept things close in the first two games before Sachem North closed Game 1 on a 10-4 run and Game 2 on a 17-8 run, prompting the students in attendance to chant, "One more set!"

"We have the best fans on Long Island," said libero Rob Nolan (nine digs), adding that he was grateful for the passionate screaming and chanting.

It's just one of the many ways the Arrows have made noise.

ESM wins Class B. Tyler Brandow had 21 kills and 17 digs and Josh Undari had 38 assists to lead No. 2 Eastport-South Manor (10-6) to a 25-15, 16-25, 25-11, 25-19 win over No. 1 East Hampton/Bridgehampton (10-7), in the Class B final. The Sharks earned their fourth county title in five years.

ESM (10-6) will play Roslyn in Saturday's Long Island final.

"I've never had this feeling before. Winning a county championship is the best feeling in the world," Brandow said.

"Tyler is the go-to guy," Undari said. "When we're in a slump, you go to him. It's a kill every time."

"I kept on telling my setters, 'Tyler's in a zone, let's keep feeding him the ball.' He was totally focused," ESM coach Bruce Stiriz said.

"The character of this team is awesome," Stiriz added. "These guys are really a close knit team. I'm very proud of them."

East Hampton/Bridgehampton is 10-7.
