E-waste dumpsites to open in N. Hempstead
Starting after the new year, residents in the Town of North Hempstead can dump used electronics at a variety of town locales.
Residents also can dispose of e-waste at the following times:
-- Every Sunday in January except Jan. 1, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Town of North Hempstead Resident Drop-off Center, 999 W. Shore Rd., Port Washington.
-- Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Solid Waste Management Authority facility, 802 W. Shore Rd., Port Washington.
The following sites will also serve as drop-off sites from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on these dates:
-- Jan. 23 and 24 at Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Rd., New Hyde Park.
-- Jan. 24 and 25 at New Hyde Park Road School, 300 New Hyde Park Rd., New Hyde Park.
-- Jan. 25 and 26 at North Middle School, 77 Polo Rd., Great Neck.
-- Jan. 26 and 27 at Sousa Elementary School, 101 Sands Point Rd., Port Washington.
-- Jan. 30 and 31 at Manhasset Middle and High schools, 200 Memorial Place, Manhasset.
-- Feb. 1 and 2 at Rushmore Avenue School, 251 Rushmore Ave., Carle Place.
-- Feb. 2
