East Rock's Hobbs one-hits Malverne

David Hobbs tossed a one-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks as East Rockaway topped Malverne, 2-0, in a Nassau BC baseball game Monday. Billy Humes scored Hobbs on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth to give East Rockaway a 2-0 lead.

Baldwin 7, Freeport 3: Travis Hylton went 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs for Baldwin in non-league.

Calhoun 8, MacArthur 7: Tom Viverito hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Calhoun an 8-7 lead in non-conference.Clarke 12, Manhasset 4: Michael Aloisio went 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs and three RBIs and Kevin Mackey went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs for Clarke in a Conference A-V/VI crossover.

Great Neck South 15, Roosevelt 1: Jon Dennett struck out a career-high 17 in a two-hitter to lead Great Neck South in Countywide.

Hicksville 4, Valley Stream Central 3:Michael Reilly singled home Jonathan Pagan in the fifth inning to put Hicksville up 4-0. Sean Bragg tossed a complete game with nine strikeouts and didn't allow an earned run. Lynbrook 8, Glen Cove 3: Brian Bilello had two hits, including a homer, four RBIs and two runs to lead Lynbrook in a Conference A-III/A-IV crossover.

Roslyn 10, New Hyde Park 4: Justin Aronoff allowed three runs and five hits and struck out seven in a complete game. Aronoff had a three-run home run and John Peck went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs for Roslyn in a A-II/A-II crossover game.

Uniondale 12, Hempstead 1: Joel Rotestan struck out 10 and gave up one hit in 52/3 innings for Uniondale in Countywide. Sal Torres went 3-for-3 with two triples and Dominic Torres hit his second home run of the season.Wheatley 11, Friends Academy 7: Chris Gould went 3-for-4 with a home run, T.J. Christina had two hits and two RBIs and Nick Jonas went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Wheatley in Conference BC. Don Balducci struck out four in seven innings for Wheatley.

Rocky Point 8, Amityville 0: Joe DeFrank struck out 10 in a three-hitter and went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs to lead Rocky Point in League VI. Anthony Zitaglio had two hits, including a three-run homer.

Bay Shore 6, Central Islip 2: Jason Eierman allowed two hits and struck out five for his first varsity win for Bay Shore in League II.

Brentwood 10, Floyd 8: Eric Perdomo went 3-5 with a double and an RBI to lead Brentwood in League I.

Sachem East 3, Ward Melville 1: Mike Amato struck out 11 and allowed one earned run in 6 1/3 innings for Sachem East in League I.
