Ekert's goal lifts Commack past Sachem East
Colleen Ekert scored with two minutes remaining in the first half to give Commack (4-0-1) a three-goal lead in its 3-2 win over visiting Sachem East in League I girls soccer Monday.
Kristin Brandman and Brittany Costa also scored. Brianna Phillips had two second-half goals for Sachem East (4-1).
Smithtown East 1, East Islip 0: Lina Veliz scored off a pass from Danielle Gramdomette with 2:41 left in overtime for Smithtown East (5-0) in League III. Michelle Conrad made nine saves in her fifth shutout of the season and Katelyn Koslosky had four stops for East Islip (3-2).
Half Hollow Hills West 2, Comsewogue 1: Julia DiMaria scored the winner with 3:11 remaining for Hills West (5-0) in League IV. Marissa Rosen scored for Hills West.
Victoria Ruplin scored for Comsewogue. Eleni Lazarides had 12 saves for Hills West. Kim Comstock had nine saves for Comsewogue (2-3).
Miller Place 2, Westhampton 1: Liana Bloom scored both goals for Miller Place (3-1) in League VI. Her goal with seven minutes left gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead before Rebecca Robbins scored on a penalty kick with no time left for Westhampton (1-2-2).
Nassau
Baldwin 2, Hicksville 1: Amanda Rooney scored from the top of the 18-yard box with 12 minutes left in the game to lift Hicksville (4-2) in Conference II. N'Dea Johnson scored midway through the first half to give Baldwin (2-2-2) a 1-0 lead. Kerriann Madigan scored five minutes later to tie the score at 1 for Hicksville.
Jericho 1, Garden City 0: Amanda Epstein, off a feed from Taylor Falgoust, scored at 23:15 in the first half for Jericho (3-1-1) in Conference IV. Senior Farrah Waldman made a career-high 24 saves in her first solo shutout of the season. Garden City is (3-2-1).
West Hempstead 3, Floral Park 2: Olivia Czavar's header to the far post on a cross from Katie Kurs from the right side of the penalty box with 30 seconds left was the winner for West Hempstead (3-1-1) in Conference VI. Czavar, a junior, notched her second hat trick of the season. Casey Naab scored both goals for Floral Park (3-2).
Non-League
Portledge 1, Chapin (Manhattan) 0: Erica Cohen scored off a feed from Kristie Kelly in the 11th minute for Portledge (7-0). Ashley Wade made three saves in her sixth shutout of the season.
