Elmont hands Mepham first loss
Mepham narrowly escaped losses in its last two games with a four-point win and a two-point win, but the Pirates couldn't hold off Elmont today. Host Elmont gave Mepham its first loss of the season with a 44-32 win.
Elmont held Mepham to 11 second-half points. The Pirates usually hit a lot of three-pointers, but were held to just three. Bria Fisher had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Alex Clark scored 14 points. Cassandra Cherry hit two three-pointers in a 16-5 fourth quarter for Elmont (10-2, 8-2 Nassau Conference AA-III). Mepham is 12-1, 9-1.
