Elmont to host second annual film festival

The Elmont community will host its second annual film festival Wednesday.
The Elmont Chamber of Commerce will host the Elmont Film Festival at Elmont Memorial Library’s theater, 700 Hempstead Tpke., from 1 to 9 p.m. Admission is free.
The festival will feature Long Island International Film Expo award-winning films as well as local filmmakers, who will be at the event for question-and-answer sessions.
This year’s special guest will be Ron Turcotte, the jockey who rode Secretariat to the Triple Crown 40 years ago. A documentary on his life, titled “Secretariat’s Jockey, Ron Turcotte,” will be shown.
