THE BUDGET

The district is proposing a budget of $51,914,687 for the 2010-11 school year, which is a 5.93 percent increase from the current budget of $49,006,863. The local tax levy would rise from $35,547,415 to $38,111,112 - a 7.21 percent increase.

Taxes on an average home assessed at $4,000 would increase by 7.21 percent from $8,029 to $8,608.

Teachers would receive a 3 percent salary increase and a 2 percent increment under the proposed budget. There would be a reduction of two assistant principal positions and three teaching positions.
