What can Long Island businesses expect from the new Congress? A program scheduled for next Wednesday may shed some light.

Andrew Shore, former chief of staff to the House Republican Conference, and Joshua Lamel, former legislative council to Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), will offer their views on the potential for new tax cuts, the possibility of overhauling the Obama administration's health reform bill, and what incentives the federal government may provide for job creation. The discussion is sponsored by Empire Government Strategies, a lobbying organization. Moderators will be veteran attorney and Empire chairman Arthur J. Kremer, and Anthony M. Figliola, the organization's vice president.

The event, open to the public, starts at 8 a.m. at 1425 RXR Plaza in Uniondale. Reservations are required. Contact Nancy Scobie at 516-663-6684 or nscobie@rmfpc.com.
