The North Fork Environmental Council plans to host a forum on development issues along Main Road, including environmental protection and preservation efforts.

The “Save Our Sound Ave/Save Main Road” program is scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, at the Hallockville Museum Farm on Sound Avenue in Riverhead.

The forum will focus on Main Road, which is near Sound Avenue, east of County Road 105 in the communities of Aquebogue and Jamesport. The towns of Riverhead and Southold champion the rural character along the road and advocate for protecting its resources.

Tickets, which are $35 for one and $60 for two, can be purchased online at the NFEC website, nfec1.org, beginning Tuesday or through its offices at 631-298-8880. Tickets will be $5 more at the door.
