The 15-highest-paid executives at Long Island's public companies took in more than $230 million in 2014 compensation, according to data compiled by Newsday. Here is a look at how much each executive made.

1. James Dolan, Cablevision

Cablevision Systems Corp. CEO James L. Dolan topped the list of Long Island's top-paid executives at public companies in 2014. His total compensation this past year was $23,702,403.

2. Charles F. Dolan, Cablevision

Cablevision Systems Corp. chairman Charles Dolan was the second-highest-paid executive for Long Island-based companies in 2014. He collected total compensation last year of $15,347,097.

3. Gregg G. Seibert, Cablevision

Gregg Seibert, the vice chairman at Cablevision Systems Corp., was the third-highest-paid executive for Long Island-based companies in 2014. He collected total compensation this past year of $14,032,940.

4. Joseph R. Ficalora, New York Community Bancorp

Joseph Ficalora, chief executive of New York Community Bancorp Inc., received $11,234,805 in compensation in 2014, making him the fourth-highest-paid executive on Long Island.

5. Irwin David Simon, Hain Celestial Group

Irwin David Simon, founder of the Hain Celestial Group Inc., earned compensation of $11,172,452 in 2014, placing him fifth on the list of highest-paid executives of Long Island companies.

6. Dan Bodner, Verint Systems

Dan Bodner, the chief executive of Verint Systems Inc., was paid total compensation of $9,645,772 in 2014.

7. Lawrence D. Kingsley, Pall Corp.

Pall Corp. chief executive Lawrence D. Kingsley earned $9,471,578 in 2014, which placed him seventh on the list of top-paid executives at Long Island-based companies. Pall was sold this year, and he is in line for a golden parachute worth more than $109.2 million, according to regulatory filings.

8. Kristin Dolan, Cablevision

The top-ranked woman on the list of highest-paid executives at Long Island public companies in 2014 was Kristin Dolan, the chief operating officer and a director at Cablevision Systems Corp. She earned $7,391,705 this past year.

9. Brian Sweeney, Cablevision

Brian Sweeney, president at Cablevision Systems Corp., earned $7,009,589 in 2014.

10. Stanley Bergman, Henry Schein

Stanley Bergman, executive chairman and chief executive of Henry Schein Inc. earned a total compensation in 2014 of $6,869,691.

11. Richard Daly, Broadridge Financial Solutions

12. Robert Wann, New York Community Bancorp

Monte Redman, chief executive at Astoria Financial Corp., made $4,012,910 in total compensation in 2014.

15. James A. Hayward, Applied DNA Sciences

James Hayward, the chairman of Applied DNA Sciences Inc., collected total compensation of $3,873,706 in 2014.
