Among the high-flying acts scheduled to dazzle spectators at the annual Jones Beach air show over Memorial Day weekend are some of the U.S. military's precision fighter craft, jets that cut across the sky at supersonic speeds.

But this year's lineup of aerial acrobats is missing two favorites that normally headline one of the state park's best-attended events.

While fans may gasp at the maneuvers of an F-22 Raptor Stealth Fighter and the T-34 and T-6 planes, and marvel at the World War II-era bombers, they will not see the elite Blue Angels and Air Force Thunderbirds because of scheduling conflicts.

The two squads have alternated appearances at the show since it started in 2004.

The Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach takes place at Jones Beach Beach State Park in Wantagh on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free but parking costs $10 per vehicle.

Organizers said the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach, which will also mark the 100-year anniversary of U.S. naval aviation, will still be a hit despite the absence of the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds.

A crowd of about 400,000 is expected over the two days, officials said.
