F1 star Hamilton and Pussycat Dolls singer split

(AP) — Formula One star Lewis Hamilton and Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger have split after dating for more than two years.

The 25-year-old McLaren driver and 31-year-old American said in a joint statement released Monday that they wanted to concentrate on their careers.

They had been an item since meeting at the MTV Europe Awards in Munich in November 2007. Scherzinger, a constant presence in F1's paddock since, was track side a year later when Hamilton won his first F1 title at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
