Faharty leads Bayport-Blue Point girls

Paige Faharty had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Bayport-Blue Point over Sayville, 34-28, Friday in non-league girls basketball. Rebecca Raber added 10 rebounds and scored all of her nine points in the second half for the Phantoms (4-3).

Sewanhaka 49, Syosset 47: Freshman Michelle Niles had a career-high 11 points for Sewanhaka (4-1) in Nassau non-league Thursday. Freshman Daniella Ford added a career-high 10 points off the bench and also had four assists.

Carle Place 47, South Side 39: Samantha Burden had 15 points and six assists for Carle Place (4-0) in non-league Thursday. Jill Flecker added 13 points and 15 rebounds and Sarah Pisani had 11 points and five assists for the Frogs.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Seaford 57, Division 45: James Curley had 15 points for Seaford (3-2) in non-conference. Ryan Birmingham had 23 points for Division.

Deer Park 72, North Babylon 56: Rome Jenkins had 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead Deer Park (3-0) in non-league. Kyle Bradford added 14 points and six assists and Keith Williams had 11 points and 11 assists.

Pierson 65, Mattituck 57:Patrick Sloane had 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead Pierson in non-league. Tom Sledjeski had 20 points and 14 rebounds for Mattituck.

Long Island Lutheran 55, Harborfields 41: Ken Facey had 11 points and 15 rebounds to lead Lutheran (7-2) in non-league. Ryan Denicola added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Crusaders.

Oyster Bay 51, Garden City 44: Greg Nielson had 16 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks to lead Oyster Bay (3-2) in non-league Thursday.

Great Neck North 59, Great Neck South 46: Alec Ludwig had 18 points, five assists and four rebounds to lead GNN (4-1) in non-league Thursday. Jared Lewis (eight rebounds) and Gilad Zohar each scored 10 of their 15 points in the second half for the Blazers.

Greenport 50, East Hampton 49: Billy Doucett hit the winning jumper from the baseline with nine seconds left for Greenport (2-3) in non-league Thursday.

Mount Sinai 58, Newfield 46: Mike Guzzardi had 19 points and 13 rebounds for Mount Sinai (6-1) in non-league Thursday.

WRESTLING

Connetquot 36, Sachem North 31: Shaun Gillen (160 pounds) defeated Mike Schreck by a technical fall in 5:31 to win it.

Connetquot 73, Smithtown West 12: Eddie Hart (106) decisioned Andrew Swanson, 10-9, getting a reversal in the last three seconds.
