Fantasy football: Finish strong with Stewart
Jonathan Stewart was drafted in the first few rounds of fantasy football drafts even though he was behind DeAngelo Williams on the depth chart. The Panthers' running game was one of the best the last few seasons, but it has mostly struggled this season.
The offensive line and quarterback play have been shaky. After rushing for 30 yards on five carries in Week 9, many owners might have abandoned Stewart after he sustained a concussion and had to miss two games.
But Stewart has recovered nicely, and since his return, the third-year back is showing why he's one of the NFL's most talented running backs. He has rushed for 323 yards and a touchdown on 51 carries for a 6.4 yards per carry average over the last three games.
Stewart rushed for 133 yards last week against the Falcons, one of the top run defenses. This week Stewart gets the Cardinals, ranked 30th against the run. Start Stewart as he headlines some of Week 15's top plays.
Jon Kitna (Cowboys, QB): The Cowboys' vertical passing game hasn't been great, but Kitna is producing good numbers. He has thrown nine touchdowns in the last five games, including two 300-yard games in that span. The Redskins' passing defense is ranked 28th and has injuries.
Kerry Collins (Titans, QB): If you're an Aaron Rodgers owner and seeking a backup plan, Collins is a good one. Collins threw for three touchdowns last week and the return of Kenny Britt boosts the passing game. Oh yeah, and the Texans defense is the worst against the pass, allowing 29 passing touchdowns. Also, Houston's already bad pass rush took a hit with the season-ending injury to Mario Williams.
Ryan Torain (Redskins, RB): Don't expect Torain to see the huge gaps he ran through last week against the Buccaneers, but he's still a solid RB2.
Kenny Britt (Titans, WR): Britt had just four catches for 39 yards in his return, but now with a full week under his belt, he'll thrive against the Texans.
Deion Branch (Patriots, WR): In PPR scoring the last five games, Branch has 14, 14, 26, 15, and 29 points. Stick with what's working.
Owen Daniels (Texans, TE):
Daniels looked good with five catches for 91 yards last week. He's Top-5 at the position this week.
