It can be difficult to find a way to make your fantasy football team significantly better this late in the season. The true contenders have separated themselves, the trade deadline has likely passed, and obvious waiver targets are likely already acquired.

However, new intriguing options emerge in free agency every week. Here are some that could still make a big impact for your team:

Tony Romo (QB, Cowboys)

If for some reason he's still available, go pick him up. He's returning this week and can be considered a QB1 the rest of the way.

Brock Osweiler

(QB, Broncos)Peyton Manning is out with plantar fasciitis, so Brock will finally get the chance to prove his worth. Given the talented targets at his disposal, the upside is there for him to perform as a low-end QB1 as long as he remains a starter. Granted, there is some risk that he'll prove even more incapable than Peyton Manning has been this year.

James White(RB, Patriots)White is the new passing game back for the explosive Patriots offense. While he isn't as talented as previous players in this role (Dion Lewis and Shane Vereen), the Patriots are going to score points, and White will have the opportunity to score some of them. He's worth stashing on your bench.

Danny Amendola

(WR, Patriots)

Following up on the White comments above, Amendola is the most likely candidate to absorb the new targets that have opened up in the Patriots explosive offense, especially with Julian Edelman likely out for the rest of the regular season. Amendola should be your No. 1 priority in waivers, and I doubt a better pickup candidate will emerge for the rest of the season.

Worth a flier

Mark Sanchez (QB, Eagles), Thomas Rawls (RB, Seahawks), Jay Ajayi (RB, Dolphins), Denard Robinson (RB, Jaguars), Kamar Aiken (WR, Ravens), Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Titans), Dwayne Harris (WR, Giants), Crockett Gillmore (TE, Ravens), Richard Rodgers (TE, Packers)
