Federer named top seed for 2012 U.S. Open

Roger Federer has been named the top seed in this year's U.S. Open.

Fresh off his Wimbledon victory, the 17-time Grand Slam champion is aiming for his sixth victory at the Open, which would be a new tournament record. He lost in the semifinals for the last two years.
