Bravo to Geraldine Ferraro, a trailblazing politician who made a difference and left the world a better place ["Ferraro shone for women and Italian-Americans," Opinion, March 29].

It was fitting that Ferraro made her farewell in March, Women's History Month. She made history as the first female, and first Italian-American candidate for vice president. Although she did not win that race, it was still a victory for women.

As a New York congresswoman, Rep. Ferraro shattered the political glass ceiling, opening the door for women today to follow her path.

I hail women such as Geraldine Ferraro who chose to take a different path. By their vision in the past, women today can see their future.
