Two people were seriously injured when the Lexus they were riding in slammed into a tractor trailer Friday morning in North Bay Shore, pinning the car under the rig, police said.

Billy David Goodman, 57, of Arkansas, was driving the 2007 International tractor trailer east on Sweeneydale Avenue at 4:15 a.m. and trying to make a left onto northbound Fifth Avenue when the rig was struck by the southbound 2016 Lexus, Suffolk County police said.

Officers from the Emergency Service Section extricated the driver and a passenger, who were taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Neither victim has been identified, police said.

Goodman was not hurt. His tractor trailer, owned by Be Good Trucking, was inspected, and the Lexus was impounded for a safety check, police said.

Detectives investigating the crash urge anyone with information to call the Third Squad at 631-852-8352.
