Executives of Karma411, a Westbury-based technology firm, will sit down this week with officials of the Long Island Regional Planning Council to iron out details of a plan to engage the public in online conversations about the need for affordable housing.

Karma411 was recently awarded a $50,000 contract to conduct a "public outreach" regarding the council's recommendations in its Long Island 2035 Sustainability Plan, which was released in December 2010.

The council is a bi-county advisory group made up of town and village officials and business leaders.

John Murcott, Karma411's chief executive, said in an interview Friday that the firm will be examining a number of online options to get peoples' opinions on the affordable housing issue.
