Nassau County Health Department Commissioner Dr. Lawrence Eisenstein, and Legis. Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) will present a forum on the West Nile virus, mosquito control and other health concerns Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Seaford Public Library, on 2234 Jackson Ave.

Eisenstein will also answer questions regarding mosquito control, and appropriate health and safety measures to take.

The county Department of Public Works is responsible for mosquito control, including monitoring and treating street basins, sumps, ponds and fresh water streams with larvicides. To report a mosquito or stagnant water problems, call DPW’s Mosquito Control Unit at 516-571-6900.

The county Department of Health conducts mosquito and West Nile virus surveillance activities at 42 trap sites throughout Nassau. For information concerning West Nile virus activity, call the Health Department’s Mosquito Surveillance at 516-572-1211.
