Founders Day fun in Babylon

Newsday.com community journalist T.C. McCarthy is at the Village of Babylon’s first-ever Founders Day event, getting a rundown of the village’s history at multiple locations.

* Historical figure Sherman Tweety could kick a peanut from his own head.

* Nat Conklin’s mother’s fear of God resulted in Babylon’s name.

* Babylon Town Hall was constructed between 1918-1919, but the first meeting was held there before the building was even completed.
