Giants rookie right guard Francis Mauigoa left Thursday’s joint practice with an injury and didn’t return after being evaluated by trainers.

Harbaugh told reporters that Mauigoa suffered a stinger that doesn’t seem serious. Joshua Ezeudu filled in for Mauigoa the remainder of practice.

Receiver Malik Nabers also was held out because Harbaugh said the Giants couldn’t control the environment to protect him. Nabers participated in a few team drills the last three practices, but this was the first time he hasn’t practiced since the Giants’ third practice in West Virginia.

New running back Najee Harris got his first taste of team drills Thursday. The veteran is still working his way back into shape from an Achilles injury in Week 3 last season, but Harbaugh said he was ready for more work after just doing individual drills on Tuesday.

“He looked good today,” Harbaugh told reporters. “Some guys are going to say fresh legs, but we're all going to have fresh legs in the first game. So, I was happy to see it. He looked good.
