Free counseling services for superstorm Sandy victims

Nassau County residents coping with the aftermath of superstorm Sandy can seek free and private counseling services this month in various locations.
Legis. David Denenberg (D-Merrick) and Project Hope of the Mental Health Association of Nassau County announced the initiative, which involves group or one-on-one counseling for Sandy victims in multiple locations: Bellerose, East Meadow, Carle Place, Floral Park, Franklin Square, Garden City, Garden City Park, Herricks, Lakeview, Malverne, Levittown, Merrick, New Hyde Park, Roosevelt, Rockville Centre, Searingtown, Salisbury, Stewart Manor and West Hempstead.
Residents living in those areas are asked to call 516-504-HELP. Those outside these areas should call LifeNet at 800-543-3638 to reach a local Project Hope group.
