Brookhaven Town will provide free firewood for residents tomorrow at its Yaphank landfill to help dispose of superstorm Sandy debris.
Residents can pick up the firewood from the brush drop-off at the Landfill, 350 Horseblock Rd., between 8 a.m. and noon.
The firewood, which also will be available Feb. 9, is for town residents only and commercial vehicles will not be permitted, according to town officials.
“Sandy left us with mountains of debris, including trees that needed to be cut down to size,” said Town Supervisor Ed Romaine. “And with so much to dispose of, it made good sense to offer our residents free firewood to use in their homes.”
Residents are asked to call 631-451-8696 for more information.
