Free food, supplies for Baldwin residents affected by Sandy

A free mobile food and supply distribution program will come to Baldwin Tuesday to help residents affected by superstorm Sandy.
State Sen. Dean G. Skelos (R-Rockville Centre), Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray, town council members Anthony Santino and Dorothy Goosby, and Long Island Cares have partnered to sponsor the program.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Baldwin Park, 3232 South Grand Ave.
Residents will be able to obtain free of charge nonperishable food items, water, cleaning supplies, gloves, masks, heaters and blankets. Individuals will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointments are required.
