Free cleaning supplies, heaters, blankets and other items to help families recovering from superstorm Sandy are to be distributed Friday in South Massapequa and Tuesday in Wantagh, according to the office of state Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo Jr. (R-Merrick).

The supplies will be available to residents Friday at Anchor Park, near Admiral Road and Spar Lane in South Massapequa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Another distribution will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23 at Wantagh Park, 1 King Rd., in Wantagh from 11 a.m. to2 p.m.

Supplies are to be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis by Hauppauge-based hunger assistance group Long Island Cares Inc.

The free items being given away will also include protective masks, trash bags, water, nonperishable food, pet food and plastic storage bins.
