Homeowners facing the threat of foreclosure can receive help Friday in Freeport — free of charge and with no appointment necessary — from a state Mobile Foreclosure Relief Center.

State Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is partnering with the state Department of Financial Services and Freeport Village Mayor Andrew Hardwick to bring the mobile center staffed with Department of Financial Services specialists to the Freeport Long Island Rail Road station parking lot at the northeast corner of Sunrise Highway and Henry Street from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The specialists will provide homeowners with personalized information and guidance based on their place in the pre-foreclosure and foreclosure process. Specialists also will provide guidance on how to file complaints about suspected lender or mortgage services abuses, such as predatory lending practices.

Homeowners should bring copies of their mortgage documents, loan payment records, letters from their lenders or mortgage services, or any other information relevant to their personal situation.

For more information, contact Hardwick’s office at 516-377-2252 or Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
