The Village of Lindenhurst's Rotary Club plans to host its annual Snapper Derby on Saturday.

The free fishing event, held at Lindenhurst Village Marina on South Wellwood Avenue, is open to children ages 5 to 12. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with fishing from 9 a.m. to noon. Free food will be provided for the children; the Rotary Club will be selling coffee, tea and bagels, as well as raffle tickets.

Three bicycles will be awarded as prizes: one for the heaviest fish and one to each boy and girl who catches the most fish. Trophies will also be awarded.
