Local residents can get free assistance, information and referral for legal issues from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Nassau County Bar Association at 15th and West streets in Garden City.

As part of its ongoing tradition of providing pro bono and community legal assistance, the association, along with Nassau/Suffolk Law Services, invites all Nassau residents to the legal fair, said the group’s spokeswoman, Valerie Zurblis. Attorneys will not provide legal representation, she said.

There will be attorneys fluent in foreign languages to help some residents in their native tongues. Topics will include mortgage foreclosure, immigration, bankruptcy and consumer debt, divorce and family issues, special education, and issues related to seniors and veterans.

For more information, call Zurblis at 516-747-4070, ext. 204.
