Free workshops on filing property assessment grievances

Nassau County legislators Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) and Kevan Abrahams (D-Freeport) will present free tax assessment workshops on how to file a grievance of a property assessment with the county Assessment Review Commission.

The filing period is Jan. 2 to May 1. Experts provide assistance, guidance and information on the tax grievance application process. A question-and-answer session and one-on-one assistance follow.

Denenberg’s workshops will be offered:

Jan. 29, 7:30 p.m., North Merrick Library, 1691 Meadowbrook Rd.

Feb. 4, 7:30 p.m., Bellmore Library, 2288 Bedford Ave.

Feb. 6, 7:30 p.m., Freeport Library, 144 W. Merrick Rd.

Feb. 8, 1 p.m., Merrick Library, 2279 Merrick Ave.

Feb. 15, 1 p.m., Wantagh Library, 3285 Park Ave.

Abrahams’ workshops will take place:

Feb. 2, 11 a.m., Uniondale Public Library, 400 Uniondale Ave.

Feb. 7, 7 p.m., Freeport Library, 144 W. Merrick Rd.
