State Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo Jr. (R-Merrick) will host a job resource expo to help better prepare residents looking for employment.

The event will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Freeport Recreation Center, 130 E. Merrick Rd.

“The current job market is extremely competitive, but there are programs and services that can help residents improve their chances of finding employment,” Fuschillo said in a statement. “This event will enable individuals to learn about ... steps they can take to give themselves the best chance to succeed in their job search.”

Expo attendees will have their resumes reviewed and learn interviewing skills and job-searching tips, as well as speak with career counselors.

Participants also will learn about job-training programs, upcoming civil service exams, higher education opportunities, vocational and educational services for individuals with disabilities, social service assistance programs and starting a small business.

For more information and to view a list of exhibitors, visit Fuschillo’s website fuschillo.nysenate.gov or call at 516-882-0630.
