Nassau Legis. Dave Denenberg will hold a community meeting for residents seeking superstorm Sandy recovery resources tonight in Freeport.

Denenberg (D-Merrick) issued a statement that the forum will concern rebuilding and elevating homes, obtaining building permits, dealing with insurance and receiving federal assistance.

Officials from Hempstead Town’s building department and the Federal Emergency Management Agency as well as insurance attorneys and construction industry representatives have been invited to attend, Denenberg said.

“Flooding on residential streets, all of which are town or village roads, is also an issue to be discussed,” Denenberg said.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. at Freeport High School, 50 S. Brookside Ave. in Freeport.
