Newsday's Sumathi Reddy reports from Suffolk County Court Tuesday that the best friend of Jeffrey Conroy testified Conroy got a tattoo of a small swastika on his upper right thigh in 2008.
From the story:
Keith Brunjes, 18, of Medford, told jurors that he used a needle to give Conroy the tattoo and that afterward, Conroy said, "If I ever go to jail, I'm screwed."
The best friend's testimony came on the fourth day of the closely watched trial of Conroy, 19, of Medford, who is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter, both as hate crimes, in the Nov. 8, 2008, stabbing of Lucero in Patchogue.
Earlier that year, Brunjes testified, he gave Conroy a tattoo of a lightning bolt on his upper right arm and a tattoo of a star on his upper left arm.
