Garza bests Braden as Rays keep pace one game behind Yankees
Matt Garza outpitched Dallas Braden for his career-high 13th win and led the Tampa Bay Rays to a 3-2 victory over the host Oakland Athletics yesterday. Evan Longoria hit a tiebreaking two-run double in the sixth as the Rays remained one game behind the Yankees in the AL East.
