Geno Smith may have taken what appeared to be a full workload on Monday, but Aaron Glenn said the ankle injury that kept him out of Friday’s preseason opener is not completely cleared. Smith was wearing a sleeve on his lower right leg on Monday.

“Anytime you have a situation with soreness I don’t think it’s totally gone,” Glenn said. “Players understand how to manage it and players want to practice because they want to get better. But we have to do a really good job of making sure we don’t push the limit so far that we end up going backwards.”

Glenn noted that Monday’s practice was a “light” one and that he intends to put some “stress” on the team Tuesday with a much harder workout. That could mean having Smith either sit out or be limited.

Said Glenn: “I want to see exactly how he feels coming out of this practice to see how we are going to move forward.”
