Islip is relaunching its bench customization program.

Through the plan, residents can have a bench of their choice designed, built and placed in the park for $150. A small plaque with a personal message can be added to the bench at additional cost, officials said.

“The Memorial Benches program is a great way for Islip residents to make a positive impact on their local parks,” Supervisor Phil Nolan said in a statement. “I hope residents take advantage of the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to their community.”

Residents interested in purchasing a bench can call the town parks and recreation department at 631-224-5411.
