A regional flood watch is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday night, with the possibility of multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms that could lead to flash flooding and some gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service.
The rainfall is going to start this evening on Long Island.
It will likely be heaviest in northeastern New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley, but could also be excessive on Long Island, especially on Monday.
