Giants, Manning close to extension
Eli Manning and the Giants appear to be close to finalizing a new contract, according to NFL.com.
Significant progress has been made on a long term extension and there is optimism the two sides can come to terms before the season opener Sunday night in Dallas, according to the report.
The contract talks come on the heels of one of Manning's best statistical seasons as a Giant, as his 30 touchdowns were just one shy of his career high.
