Give precious gift of blood during drive at Helen Hayes Hospital on June 13
Helen Hayes Hospital will host a blood drive June 13 to help supply the Hudson's Valley region's continuous demand for a fresh supply of donated blood.
The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the hospital's auditorium, 51-55 Route 9W North, in West Haverstraw.
Volunteer donors are relied upon to "give the gift of life" and sustain the constant need for blood. No substitute exists for blood donations.
Donors must be healthy, ages 17-76, weigh at least 110 pounds and not have donated blood in the past 56 days or taken part in an ALYX donation in the past 112 days. Prospective donors over age 76 may donate if they present a doctor's note.
Donors must drink and eat well before donating and present a photo or signature ID.
A medical exam will be provided on-site that will include a pulse reading, temperature taking, blood pressure measuring and hemoglobin level testing.
Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are not necessary. For more information, call 845-786-4967.
