The trade of Francisco Rodriguez to the Brewers brought panic to the fantasy baseball world. Initially, he was going to set up for John Axford. Then the Brewers announced the two would share the closing role.

It may be that way for a short period, but with Rodriguez waiving his $17.5-million vesting option, expect him eventually to become the full-time closer. He's more experienced and rarely do teams go with co-closers. Check your waiver wire to see if Rodriguez was dropped.

As for the Mets, right now, it's a closer by committee with Bobby Parnell, Jason Isringhausen and Pedro Beato. Isringhausen has closer experience, but using Parnell as a closer makes the most sense. Whether the Mets go that route remains to be seen. Parnell has a 30/9 K/BB ratio in 242/3 innings with a 2.92 ERA and the Mets need to see if he mentally can handle being a closer. If you need to pick one, go Parnell.

Jordan Zimmermann (Nationals, SP): Most people are aware that Zimmermann is on an innings limit of 160. He's at 115. It's going to be difficult to get a fair return if you try to trade him. If you get a fair offer, take it. Zimmermann has been one of the best pitchers since June. In 542/3 innings, he has allowed 45 hits and eight earned runs, with a 38/8 K/BB ratio. For the season, he has a 2.66 ERA and 1.07 WHIP.

Danny Valencia (Twins, 3B): The injuries continue to mount at third base with Alex Rodriguez the latest to go on the disabled list. Valencia is batting just .235, but he plays every day and has 10 HRs and 47 RBIs. Expect the average to increase. He's hitting .349 this month.

Emilio Bonifacio (Marlins, 3B/OF): Bonifacio is hitting leadoff and has six walks in his last five games. In 10 games this month, he is batting .447 (17-for-38) with 11 runs and eight stolen bases. Ride the hot streak, especially if you need steals.

Cory Luebke (Padres, SP): Some people just don't want a Padres pitcher. Luebke has made three starts and in 17 innings has allowed eight hits and two runs with a 21/3 K/BB ratio. Add him.

Travis Snider (Blue Jays, OF): In eight games since being called up, Snider is 14-for-35 (.400) with nine runs, seven doubles, one home run and 10 RBIs.

Felipe Paulino (Royals, SP): Consider Paulino in deep mixed leagues. He's starting to go deeper in games after beginning the season in the Rockies' bullpen. In his last three starts spanning 21 innings, he has allowed 11 earned runs with a 24/4 K/BB ratio.

Trevor Plouffe (Twins, SS):Plouffe, who was with the Twins earlier this season, batted .313 with 15 HRs in 51 games at Triple-A. He will get playing time at several positions and should be added in AL-only leagues.
