In Long Island's hottest state Senate race, freshman Democrat Brian Foley(D-Blue Point) has slightly more in his coffers than Republican challenger Lee Zeldin, but the Shirley lawyer raised twice the money in the past six months. The latest filings showed Foley with $111,932 on hand and $100,449 for Zeldin. For the six-month reporting period, Zeldin raised $142,208, and Foley, $64,221.

Elsewhere, Democratic newcomer Regina Calcaterra of New Suffolk raised $118,820 and has $106,045 on hand for her bid to challenge GOP state Sen. Kenneth LaValle (R-Port Jefferson). He has nearly twice as much on hand - $195,044 - and raised $73,343 in the past six months.
