GOP's hypocrisy will shortchange children
Regarding "After theatrics, House has work to do" [Opinion, Jan. 6], the GOP rushes us to war because the fighting and dying is done disproportionately by blacks, Hispanics and poor whites. The GOP fights health care because the expanded recipients are perceived to be blacks, Hispanics and poor whites.
If saving money was the true objective of the GOP, they would be working with the Democrats to improve, not destroy, health care. But racism, not Christianity, from the "Christian family values party" appears to be the driving force.
The heaviest price for this hypocrisy will be paid by the children denied health care.
