Gov. Cuomo signs teacher evaluations law

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has officially signed new legislation that changes the way public school teachers are evaluated.

According to the new law, a teacher's evaluation will be released only to the parents or guardians of students in their class. Officials say the evaluations will be available to the public, but the teacher's names will not be printed on them to protect their privacy.

Cuomo says the new law is necessary in order to hold educators accountable.

There is no word on when that data will start to be collected.
