Great Neck gets award for traffic initiatives
The Village of Great Neck recently received an AAA New York Bronze Award for several traffic safety initiatives.
The AAA’s Community Traffic Safety Awards Program recognizes communities for their efforts in making roads safer for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians through education, enforcement, engineering and emergency response programs.
Great Neck earned a bronze award for its efforts, which includes a pedestrian safety program and a school zone parking enforcement program.
The village was also awarded a Pedestrian Safety Commendation for having 13 consecutive years without a pedestrian fatality.
AAA also awards the honor at the platinum, silver and gold levels.
